Lift Kit Time

Alright guys I think it is getting about time to order myself a lift kit for my pickup buildup. Need a lift that will clear 35-36" tires on my '67 body and '75 F250 frame. Should I got 2" or 4" I do not want a body lift at all, I am not scared to cut my fenders and install flares, but I won't cut my fenders unless I have some sort of flares.

Who all makes a lift for a '75 F250? The only one I have found is Skyjacker.

Skyjacker will probably be the best in all areas, but isnt necessarily better than ProComp, Rancho, Superlift, etc.

Go 4" youll be happier later.

If I go with a 2" lift with the '75 F250 doesn't that make it a total of 6" lift, since it is a highboy, and a 4" would be 8" lift? Correct me if I am wrong.....

A 2 inch won't really equal a 6 inch but it will be taller then a later lowboy F250 with the same amount of lift. As far as lift height depends what your using the truck for. If it's a mud truck go with more lift to keep the t-case and frame out of the mud. If it is for trail running or street driving you'll probably be happier with less lift. A 2 inch should only require a small amount of trimming to clear the tires you want. The lower the center of gravity the better on the street and most of the time on the trail. I posted about your flare question on the other thread.

Truck is going to see mud, snow and occasional rocks. It is going to be a hunting rig mainly, and will see limited hwy driving.

If it were mine and I wasn't gonna use it on the highway much then I would just go with the 4 inch.

Does anyone besides Skyjacker make a 4" lift system. I need all new springs when I buy. Where would the best prices be also? I decided on 36x12.50x16 TSL Radials for tires.

I haven't seen too many lifts for the older highboys, but then again I never was lucky enough to own one so I never really looked. Rancho lists all thier springs in a catalog and gives spring length eye to eye, rate, and all other measurements. You could probably find something in there that will work on your truck.

I have a 1975 with a 4 inch lift and 36 inch swampers. My truck has plenty more room for 38's, so a 4 inch lift will leave room for expansion. Take a look in my gallery. It sits about the same height as a super duty with an 8 inch lift. The previous owner lifted it, so i don't know what kind it is, but I think superlift makes a kit too.

Also get about 10 degree shims to fix the front driveshaft angle.

i dont really know what will fit with that bodym but if it still had the 75 body on it you woulndt need a lift to fit those tires...but i think the 67 fenders are less forgiving to larger tires...i would go with the 2 inch lift
