Has anyone out there purchased and installed a CUSTOM-FIT AM/FM STEREO RADIOS from Custom Autosound (from the JCWhitney catalog)? The article says that there is no cutting required, it will fit perfectly in the original hole. If so, how does it sound? They also have a dual speaker replacement to replace the single speaker in the dash. The one that I am looking at is the one with the 6-disc CD changer. The ad only shows Chevy and Mustang face plates. If anyone has any first- or second-hand information (or pics!) about these, it would be greatly appreciated.
I spoke with someone at an auto audio store about installing speakers in my '72 without cutting into my door panel. He basically said there was nothing that could be done. I really would like to add a couple of extra speakers (maybe even a subwoofer ) to my setup. I had thought about above and behind the seat, but this guy said there was no room there either. I know that there are alot of threads about this already, but was hoping that someone might have some info about the custom radio mentioned above. I don't really want to thump but I would like to be able to at least "thud" occasionally.
