Low compression 400
I have a very low compression reading on the #3 cylinder in my 400. It reads around 10#, and only jumps to about 20-25# with a squirt of oil in the hole. Burnt valve? Seat? Hole in piston top? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Any of the possibilities you listed could contribute to the problem, but since compression went up when you gave it some oil, you can bet that at least part of the problem is in the bore (rings, cylinder wall wear, etc)
