Code 34: EVP or PFE

I finally went and bought a code scanner for my 87 302 Bronco. I pulled the codes and came up with a 34, which the book lists as "EGR valve position (EVP) sensor or Pressure feedback EGR (PFE) sensor: signal voltage out of Self-Test specification limits, or signal voltage above closed limit during normal engine run operation, or signal indicates insufficient EGR flow." Anybody either had this code or have any ideas of how to test these different sensors? From what I understand I either have the EVP or the PFE, and not both. This is embarrasing, but I can't even find the EGR valve to locate the sensor. Can anybody tell me where it is at? There is something bolted to the front passenger side of the intake, but I think this may be an air pump (though it may be the EGR).

Well, I bought a Haynes manual and found out that the above mentioned attachment on the intake is indeed the EGR (and its easily accessible!) Also, mine has the EVP sensor (I think all the Broncos did) instead of the PFE. The system also contains an EVR, and two smaller solenoids (ECMR or something like that). The book does a great job telling how to test each of these things, including the circuits. It even tells what specifically test for my code. I'll post my findings once I get all the tests run (I've got to get a vacuum pump to perform most of them!).
