Hi everyone. I'm going to be moving into a "less than reputable" area in my city. What kind of anti-theft products have you had success with? I just ordered the Gorrilla Grip III..anyone use that?
My truck is a 2003 F150 Lariat and it comes with the factory alarm system. Has anybody had an experience with this working or not working?
The dealership that I bought my truck from has a standard practice (I think it is due to their location) that has serial numbers etched into all window glass on the truck. These numbers are registered and can be tracked. This makes the truck less desirable because parting it out or disguising its ownership is alot harder. It was pretty cheap and got me an additional insurance break to boot. The best defense though against theft I have found is to park in well lit areas. Don't leave valuables lying about in plain view. LOCK your DOORS!! However if somebody wants it bad enough they will take it but at least you won't make it easy.
Are you sure you have the factory "alarm"? Most are just keyless entry.
I use the Club, just something else for the thieves to have to deal with, but it can be hacked off. I saw this device on ebay that looked like one of those LCD TV screens, but if you tried to mess with it, it would shot pepper spray. That would be sweet!!
But I'm sure that there is some stupid law against it, plus it would probably trash your interior if it went off.
