Can anyone recommend a good plug for 99 5.0 explorer, and if possible tell me the proper gap.

Thanks in advance.

If you buy platinum plugs, they dont require gapping. I have Bosch Platinum II's on mine. If you just get the regular plugs, look on the label under the hood, where it says the type of oil to put in. At the bottom it will tell you the gapping specs.

I run just regular Bosh platinums. Work great and are not that pricey.

I stick with the Autolite Platinums. Have not had any problems out of them yet. I bought a set of NGK Platinums one day when I was buying plugs for my jet ski's. Figured I would give them a try, but have not put them in yet to see how hey do...

I would recommend always checking the gap on all plugs you put in. Boxes can be dropped, it, etc, and can messs up preset gapping. Autolite and the Bosch come pregapped, but I have found some that have been wrong and needed to be regapped...

Bosch Plats are ok. changed mine up at around 25,000 from factory, couldt tell the difference, to tell the truth, from OE...by all means check gap anyway, and use proper lube when screwing em in...
