Yeah, I remember that one. I was w/o power for 14 days. Although, this last storm (last week) had my power out for 4 days. Needless to say, I am not looking forward to the next storm... not at all.
well, i'm not in the same area as ya'll, but we always get crazy storms like you're exlpaining. the most recent was friday afternoon. there were 5 tornadoes in one small county. one was 1/4 mile wide and another 1/2 miles wide (wipes out a lot of corn in a hurry). another good one was with 40 tornadoes in a 15 mile radius. i love storms, but hate the damage
We sat back there for about an hour and a half. Saw a transformer blow, that was cool. We were listenin to the radio and haerd about a tornado forming in North Richland Hills. It was a crazy night.
I thought the one flash was a transformer! There was another just south of here that blew. Good times (well, not for the people who live nearby...)
How many FTE members are in this (DFW) area?
In the past week to ten days we have had a lot of severe storms. Been over 15 tornados lots of hail and high winds. This time of year it's expected in Kansas and this year mother nature is meeting her expectatons.
I remember summers in Nebraska. It does get wild up there. But at least you know what to expect. In Nebraska we could see the storm coming (this without radar and lovely things like weather.com)...
Here it might be drizzle 20 miles west and hail here...
I lived out in texas (North Richland Hills) a few years back and had one of those nasty storms go through. Now I have been through some wild storms here in KS but that one was just plan nasty. Never seen anything that bad before or still havent ( at least in person).
