Question Oil Guard Users: ?Questions?

1. Did the search, couldnt find a thread on change intervals.

so.......
Just got my Oil Guard system for my X.

Using: Rotella Synthetic

What are you using for change intervals on:

Oil guard Filter
Factory Filter
Oil analysis.

Use: commuting, Freeway about 30 minutes run time x 2 each day, weekends light towing, no "heavy" service/towing.
Currently, 44k miles, no mods other than this one (running diesel Kleen)

Thanx!

Why did you buy it? To extend oil change cycles or for better filtration? or both?

Everybody seems to buy the oil bypass filters for different reasons.

You're running a pseudo-synthetic so I can assume that you're going for extended oil change intervals? If so, I recommend that you send oil in for analysis when extending the change cycle.

I installed mine for filtration purposes only and change oil and filters every 3-4K miles.

Everybody has their own opinions, and opinions are like a_ _ holes, evrybody's got one, huh?

Lightbulb

main reason is for engine life=way better filtration.

I am switching to only changing the oil based on the Oil Analysis results.....

Probably going to pull my first sample and swap filters at 5k and see what the lab says and go from there.....unless some folks have a better method, and I am always willing to learn, even in my old age!
