Dang, why didn't I think of that? I'll have to remember that. Shoot, I didn't even put lift blocks on it. Had an '88 GMC on heavy duty rear springs with 33" boggers on the rear and 30 x 9.50 Futura A/T's on the front. Had an '85 F250 with 33" terra tires on the front and 36" Military OZ Swampers on the rear. Then to top everything off, had a '92 Mazda dropped 2" in the front and 3" in the rear with 235/75R15 A/T's and was taking it through mud that people in 4X4's were locking their hubs for.
Ok I'm going to talk to Discovery Channel people and toss "Southern Muddin' with Donnie and Bubba" at 'em for a new tv series, what do ya'll think? Then each week we will have guest mudder's on the show, Old87, GrayRanger, and whoever else. How to not get stuck and so on and so forth....whatch ya'll think, yaonttoo?
ill bring mine, just need to get some tires to go on it, stock size bald street tires are not in the mix, am lookin for some new ones, preferably all terrains, or mild mud tires, gettin tired of the usual look of all seasons, any ideas?
Jh,
A-ite......I'm game. We could sling mud on the camara men also (They sould be used to it with all the mud slinging that the politicians give 'em){I'll be nice ken}
Evil we gotta get you slinging some mud, Bald tires on dirt road is fun too
yeah, done that once or twice, but usually dont think about slingin stuff allover the place, usually too many cars around that i would hit, and that isnt alot of fun, but will do it at the drop of a hat, it the situation presents itself!!!!
i run 20-50 in the beast, it seems to do better with the thicker oil in the heat, and when im towin, just what ive found with my motor, but i do need to get an oil cooler, that is next on my list!!!! thanks for remindin me, i need to do that!!
not a prob, just had a new tranny cooler put on mine, is called a super cooler i think, is rated to 20,000lbs and drops tranny temp by about 30 degrees over the stock radiator cooling system. the tranny cooler is out of a tow truck, so i dont think that i have to worry about burnin it up anytime soon
CALL DISCOVERY QUICK! I'M GONNA BE ON T.V.! WOO-HOO! Mud boggin' with the mud hogg... do it all while pign' & grinnin'! (Yea, I'm game.) Blew the clutch master cylinder seals boggin' today. Thank God there wasn't much traffic at 10:30 p.m. couldn't stop the whole way home. Float the gears and drop the hammer. Cover the road in coal driver!
Sorry, had to get some redneck truckin' out of me.
Oil weights - I run 20/50 in the summer and usually 10/30 in the winter.
Tranny Cooler - I run a tranny cooler on all my automatics. But then again all my automatics are either burried in mud or yankin' someone out of being burried in mud.
I'ma fan of tranny coolers. A must w/auto.
Oil, man you want to start an argu I thought the 5ws were for cooler weather, something we don't get much of..i guess i'm wrong 'cause my '96 Bronco does recomend it in manual, as most of the time, read the directions last soooo - i've used 10w30syn every 3k - i know waste of $$ but hey it's got 158k. In my '79s i run the 20w50dino yr round.
Man, I almost sounded serious for a moment...............
Old87-
I've always used the tranny coolers that they have up at Pep Boys and never had a problem one out of them. I think they are called hayden coolers or something like that. Just look on the aisle with the flex fans and all that.
