Yes, that seems to be my problem as well. I beleive it could be a seal that corresponds to trans shift lever mechanism. Decided to do not bother with this problem as it requires the transmission to be dismounted just to get to that seal.
Now I only check the ATF level regularily, it leaks about 1/2 quart per month.
Though I wouldn't recommend such an attitude to the car. In my case, I drive Explorer pretty seldom this time as I prefere another car in summer. And I have very little spare time to spend on visiting repair shops. This excuses me somehow...
