Carb

I am a new member and that is because I just got my High School sweetheart back. It is my 1974 Ford, and it is a completly different truck than the one that I sold my dad 6 years ago because I was joining the military. The only thing he did that in my opinion was a mistake is he put a Holly carb on it. When I had it I had the edelbrack and I had that thing figured out. Give you a little info on the truck so you will have a better basis to answer my question. It is a 390 bored to a 396. Heads and intake has been ported and polished and the bottom end has been balanced. It drives great but I can not get the dang carb tuned!!! What size edel brock should I go with. Thanks ahead of time for your help.
Nolan

Nolan,
A 750 should do the trick!
My brother had a 396 chevy and he ran a 550 quadra jet. It hauled major ***!
A 750 should handle the displacement fine.
Good luck,
KingFisher

A 600cfm carb will work fine and have better throttle response and mileage. It will still make good power too!!
