I just bought (I haven't even picked it up yet) an E350 Cube Van. I am pretty sure that is the model but couldn't swear by it yet. It has a 351 V8 and the owner says a 13ft box. I already know that I am going to have to put some new skin on one side of the box and there is some rust on the drivers door and hood.
My question is what other issues should I expect or look for....the deal will be completed on Monday. I should also mention that I only have $1400 invested so repair money is available.
We will be using it for our competition BBQ team and some catering. We plan on traveling on the interstate with it hauling our smoker and assorted kitchen equipment. Will I have a problem with the tranny at speeds of 65-75 mph hauling that kind of weight?
I don't think the tranny will be bothered by highway driving unless it has to down/upshift a lot for hills and headwinds. Keep it out of overdrive if it does that. How many miles are on it? You'll want to look at filters, plugs, cap & rotor, plug wires, etc. Check the brakes, too. Belts & hoses. Good luck and let us know how it goes.
We go to pick it up tonight....the seller is selling as mileage exempt because he doesn't believe the odometer (34,000 miles) but he says "it drives like a 30,000 mile truck".
