AC Question for 93 Ford Explorer
Ok. My AC stopped blowing cool and it's never been converted to 134. I have several can'sw of R-12 left. I hooked up a manaifold gauge to the low pressure side and at idle with out the compressor clutch engaged it reads about 80, when i turn on the ac it reads about 50 the quickly drops to 28 at which point the AC cuts off. I don't want to overcharge the system, so my questions is, what should the gauge read when the ac-clcuthc is engaged? Or what should it read with the Ac-Clutch not engaged. I'm not a mechanic by any means so excuse the lack of proper terminalogy. Also I haev a chiltons and haynes manual,but neither covers the AC system dur to the refrigerant issue (releasing it intot he atmosphere) so is there something out there that i can reference?
