muffler

If I were to take off my muffler and put in a peice of pipe to replace it, beside being illeagal will i lose back pressure, burn exhuast valves, cause my truck to run rich or lean or any other problems. I also have a superchips tuner for my truck if that make any differance.

you shouldn't lose enough backpressure to cook valves no, but why staight pipe? If you want straight pipe go get a 3" glasspack and shove a peice of pipe through it, then at least it looks legal

You will not have any of the problems you mentioned. Backpressure is bad, the less, the better. You are letting the motor breathe better, thats never bad. As far as being legal, that depends on the area you live in.
