The wipers on my 89 Ranger only run on high and they do not return to the bottom of the window when they are off. They just stop wherever they are at.
Anyone esle seen this?

I've seen SEVERAL posts on this,its a common problem.my wipers just turn on by there self at random,but it does'nt happen enough for me to replace the switch yet.Do a search for WIPERS and I bet you find some info.

Sounds like a bad relay in the system. I'm not sure on your 89, but there should be a power distribution box under the hood, probably on the drivers side close to the master cylinder. Check to see if there is a relay for the wipers there.
