I have an '03 F-150 4.6 V8, single cab 4x2.
i recently came across a set of Lightning springs and shackles from an '03 lightning. I was considering installing them on my truck to give it a more agressive stance, i read that this will lower my truck 2 inches in the front and one inch in the rear.
i have a couple questions for you guys, has anyone done this? how difficult would it be to do it myself? do any of you have an opinions on how it would look? and would it effect the ride quality of my truck and if so, to what degree, ,any advice would be appreciated, thanks in advance
The shackles would be easy and as long as you have some mechanical aptitude the springs won't be too hard. It should not affect the ride quality too much although you would want to replace the front springs w/ some drop springs and get the front end aligned. As for the looks, majority of folks on this site prefer stock or lifted but I like my trucks dropped.
