One recommendation that was made to me was to check the EDIS module and start by checking the PIP signal (pin 1 on the EDIS) back to the PCM (pin 56). Should be a continous blink.
duke-bearnie makes a good point, and since you mentioned earlier codes relating to PIP and CID, did you get those codes resolved? Have you checked the continuous memory codes recently to see if they've come back (or any other pertinent codes)?
The PIP code I only saw once and it never came back. I saw the CID code over and over until he put in the new cam sensor and I haven't seen it come back after that. I will definitly pass on the other information to the mechanic this morning. I didn't talk with him but once yesterday and that was when he was re-checking the cam sensor.
I am sure it is still not fixed because I know after all of the things that have been done, if it were running right, he would have called me.
This exact same problem happened with my friend's first Gen Ploder, he even went so far as to change the EDIS module (over $300 Can.) but to no avail. Eventually the problem turned out to be his computer. You might want to look into a replacement one from the junkyard or if someone is willing to let you swap one for a little bit to see if that works. Your code for your computer is written right on it, it will consist of 3 letters and 1 number. You might also get lucky, as I did, and still have a sticker on your passenger door frame.
After about 3 weeks in the shop this time I finally drove it home again today. The truck wouldn't start at all for around 2 weeks of it. I went by the local salvage yard and picked up a used computer for it. Plugged it in, truck started right up. (and wouldn't start 2 minutes earlier with the original one in).
Have my finger crossed. Drove it 30 miles (never left a mile from the house!!!) Did a lot of circles
