97 F-150 starter problems

I have replaced the battery, cables, and starter and my truck still won't start. The light under the hood will flash 5 times then clicks off. I also hear a clicking noise. My truck has anti-theft, is it possible that this is the problem?

Hi rsaylor and welcome to the forum

Does the "theft" light on the dash flash when you try to start it?
Have you tried starting it in neutral instead of in park?

Yes, the light flashes. No, I haven't tried it in neutral? I will try. How can you tell if the starter relay is bad?

I should have asked earlier. Does the starter turn over at all?
Can you tell whereabouts the clicking is coming from?

try cleaning battery terminals

The new battery that I bought was bad. Brought it back to auto store, they tested it, gave me a new one and the truck started. Thanks for your help. I am glad I found this web-site.
