Has anyone ever mounted anything on the underneath side of the hard shell bed covers? Can screws be put into it without going through the finished side? I am thinking that it would be a good place to mount fishing rod holders.

 

Have you thought about mounting them with the heavy duty double sided tape? I mounted a CB that way in a 76 F-250 and it held for years. Unless you have some seriously heavy rods/reels it should work fine.

 

Double sided tape might work. Don't the new 700 Leer's come with carpet on the inside? I wonder if tape would work on the carpet.

 

What about industrial strength velcro on the carpet
