Did you ever check to see if your truck was supposed to have had the aforementioned recall done to it?? Might be worth checking before opening up fuel tanks.
I believe its already had all the recalls done to it...but ill check into it anyways...cant you go on a Ford dealership website an put in your VIN # and see if you have any recals? thx
Just did a search on google by ford recalls and this sight came up. Try it and let me know if it had what you needed. Go to the bottom of this page and click "select different make" and it will bring up the trucks. Didn't notice that this link was cars. Sorry.
I think that this would be it? I dont know...my truck is a 90, so would the recalls be in 90? or would Ford have done some recalls on it in latter years....such as 91 on up? Thx.....
93S68 SEP 93 Recall - Cross Tank Fuel Flow Condition
I think if you haven't had that done that I would get right on down to the dealer, maybe call to see if you need an appointment or anything, because that might just solve your problem. Mine was not done until sometime after I bought the truck. Mine is a '90 also and '93 or so sounds about right time frame wise. I never really had a problem, but I got it done anyway. I'd take that recall number with me just in case they can't find it, but I think they can run your VIN and see any outstanding recalls that haven't been done. At least they can check your truck and see whether or not it's been done.
