fried alternator
i was driving my 90 F250 4x4 down the road and smelled plastic burning and with a wiff of blue smoke my trucks alternator was toast, had to put it out with mt dew and mud puddle water..
oh i have a 4.9l in her. i fixed the problem and was wondering what can cause this or are there many things that can make this happen?
i do have an amp wired,, properly from the battery if that makes any difference
and one more thing i now carry a fire extinquisher in my truck

fried alternator
the alt was a rebuilt could not find any info off it. went to local parts store bought a rebuilt cant seem to find the
paper work on it.
the lead off the battery is a standard size that comes with the wiring kit
