Transmission Leak
As long as I drive under 60 mph everything is fine. If I go over sixty, I lose transmission fluid that leaks out between the motor and the bellhousing. What is happening? Any suggestions would be welcome.

The oil in an automatic transmission is subjected to heat when u drive. The heat is generated by friction in the trans and some heating is normal. The heat causes the oil to expand and too much heat will cause the oil to foam / "boil". It will then find a way to relieve the built-up pressure, usually it flows out the vent or out the front seal.
(I am holding a front seal in my hand right now...and it is going in tomorrow).
Mine have had one serious heating incident after wich I added an extra trans oil cooler. That helped. Lately I've had just a little leak, tried to fix it by adding "automatic transmission sealer". That just made it much worse....
Now I have to change the seal.
Suggestion:
There are two things that will hurt (rubber-) seals: HEAT and AGE.
In your case I'd guess age is an issue, AND it has probably been hot a cpl times at highway speeds.
This is what you can do:
1: Check and change oil and filter, both of correct type! Old contaminated oil heats up easier than new, clean oil.
2: Check band adjustment.
3: Buy an extra trans oil cooler, (bigger the better), and mount it in front of the rad as specified. This is a low-cost-easy-to-do thing and an improvement anyway.
4: Start looking for a replacement tranny...
5: Spend apprx $300 on having a shop change the front seal. You may be lucky and drive it forever after...
Good luck
