Ok, I suspect the MAP (Manifold Absolute Pressure)sensor is the problem for the little gremlin swirling around my engine compartment. I can't find it and know where it should be located. My truck is a 94 Bronco XLT with a 5.0-302. It may not even have one for an unknown reason. Any and all help is much appreciated.
facing the engine bay from the front of the truck, it is over the passenger bank of the engine just above the AC dryer canister. it is mounted just below the hood/cowl seal. compare the voltage parameters if in spec...
if within tolerances, come back and be specific in the description of the problem.
1994 was the transition year for the 5.0-302. Some were SD and some were MAF. If you have MAF, the sensor is at the airbox and there is one air tube instead of two.
Thanks all, I thought that but the darn "trusty" haynes manual does not say anything of the sort. It does have a MAF sensor and no MAP sensor. I will have to check the MAF sensor to see if it is the cause. It may even be the TAB or TAD solonoids to regulate air pressure. Thanks for clarifying that all, I appreciate it. I may just have to upgrade the MAF to something a little bigger and free flowing like that found on the 93 cobra.

Well, the MAF sensor has no guts to protect it from rattlin. All of the silicone inside has melted or turned to a sticky mess in the meter. I cleaned it up and it's a little better but not quite cured. It takes my truck a minute to gasp for air when at hard throttle...I'll figure something out. Thanks again!
