Which chip?

Which chip?
I've got a 2000 F-350SD CrewCab 4wd longbox diesel. 95% of the time I drive it unloaded, so I am mainly interested in improved fuel economy for this 95% of the time. Presently I get about 14-15 mpg.
I've seen a lot of mention of chips, but few hard figures regarding unloaded fuel economy. I'm reasonably sure I'll never need more power than this truck already has, so increasing HP/Torque isn't an issue for me.
Can anyone recommend which chip to look at, and hopefully give me some statistics on how it has affected your mileage?
Thanks.

I too have recently traded my F150 for a F250 PSD What a change!! When I had about 500 miles on the engine, I added a 50/100 Superchip. I'm seeing fuel milage of 18-22mpg but I'm still under 3k so I don't know if maybe they might get even better. I use my truck for a daily driver, running the kids around and picking up grocerys. It's also a 6 speed, crew cab 4x2. I'm looking for gauges to install too but just can't make up my mind.

Thanks for the message, unafordable; is the '50/100' a 'Banks' chip? How much did this cost you?
Also, can you tell me what kind of mileage you got before the chip? I assume performance isn't affected too negatively with this?
Thanks a lot,
Sam

I've got the Superchips standard chip, sometimes called a 50/100 chip. Superchips also has two more chips for the Powerstroke that have even more hp/torque. I added this chip mainly because it will give 2-4 extra mpg when towing. I haven't seen any neg effects from having the chip. It's a "little" quicker if I put my foot into it. With the 6 speed, I've noticed that about the time I feel the boost kick in, it's also time to change gears. I know on an automatic, this chip is supposed to firm up those shifts. It's also removed my speed limiter. Before I added the chip, I did take it up to top speed. On my truck it was about 95-97mph. I'm not going to test it now to see if it will go faster than that!! I really need to get a pyrometer put on to keep track of how hot the turbo is getting but as long as I'm not towing up Mt Everest and racing a chevy at the same time, I should be fine!!! If you go with a hotter chip, you should have a pyro and even a boost gauge installed to.

Check out this site www.maxrpm.com, they make 2 chips for the PSD. Here in SE Georgia the PSD's are king with almost everyone from farmers to off-roaders and this is the chip everyone is using. A few local Ford dealers are installing these chips before customers take delivery.
