Got rubber

To those that tried to o me to get 35's over 33's all i have to say is THANK YOU (this was mainly fishman). Got the tires yesterday, 4-35-12.50/15 procomp mud terrains. Paid right at 600 for them, only about 40 more than the 33's would have cost me. Mounted them up today, slapped them on, and finally the truck looks like something Taking it out either tonight or tomorrow for the trucks "break in" run, see how close i can come to getting stuck Pics are in my gallery.

Man night and day! Looks so much better than the 235's glad you went with the 35" tires instead of the 33". Once those wear you can slap on some 37" with a little bit of triming.
P.S. need to update your signature now!

So far on the street there's no rubbing at all which REALLY surprised me. I was expecting some at least doing a full lock reverse, but all i felt was the chatter out of the spool (which is getting ready to go, BTW) gonna build myself a "DD" third member and then a wheeling third member, one open, one spooled. I can't exactly afford $400 in rubber every 3 months.

I think the best part so far has been the reaction of the little boys around town. As i drive by you can hear all the 6-10 year olds yelling "look at the truck, look at the truck"

I went with the 35's since I did the math and figured 33's would put me at a 3.1 equivalent ratio and 35's would only put me at a 2.95, not enough to notice. Besides, before my swap i was running 3.08's, so now it just feels like before driveability wise. Some sort of gear swap is in the works, either a dual t-case (prefered) or an axle ratio swap. Also the shop had 35's in stock, so why did I want to make them go through th extra effort to order the 33's

Other part that really surprised me was that the tires were only out by about 5 ounces, i was expecting closer to 8-10 with my no name wheels and the 35's.

Justin

P.S. Happy now?

Haha yes you changed your signature! Mmmm dual cases! Instead of building 2 third members why not look into getting an ARB? Do they make ARB's for the 9"? I'm sure they do.

hmm 35's would be nice on my truck, only 60 more you say?

I guess I'd have to trim the bumper a bit but that's no prob. what do you think guys a 2wd 95 f-150 with a 4" suspension lift?

My 31"s are looking tiny.

9" ARB runs around $700. At a shop rate of $70 an hour labor i could have my third memeber swapped about 15 times before i'd start to make money. Since all that's out is my time, i can live swapping thirds. Besides i check my axles about once a week now to make sure they aren't twisting, there isn't much more beyond that to pulling the third.

All and all my truck rides almost 11" higher than a 4x2, 8 of which are at the suspension. 4x4 swap adds 4", 4" lift, and 3" from my tires. At plus 4" i imagine you could fit 35's on a 4x2 (but why? just do the swap!!) with some creative use of a sawzall

And if i can find the output shaft i need for an NP 208, i'm doing dual cases. Planned it out, just need the part. 1:1 and 2.6:1 at the flick of a lever, sounds good to me

Justin

EDIT: Those 52's in those pics?

I need a slipyoke output shaft for a ford 208. Also those 4.88's wound up being for a standard cut 44, so i'm not going to be needing that carrier (yet).
