Wow, really, over a 100 cars? Thats a pretty big turn out. I just confirmed my schedule. Texas, to Ohio, to Maryland, and back in 7 days. I think Maryland isnt gonna happen. Man my parents are gonna be upset.
It would appear I may make an Ohio meet before I make a Texas meet.
peppy...
Can I assume you will be on a business trip? I gotta ask...How come a guy from Texas is so familiar with Milford? Are you a transplant?
Everybody says that our turn out is great for just starting this thing in May. The DJ sure helps it out. This guy's been doing this for over 20 years, and has over 18,000 songs on the hard drive of his computer! He's using some sort of beta software from Australia to play his music. If you want to hear a song, chances are he's got it.
the clubs name is 4 play customs. we have trucks, rice burners and one guy has a cavilere hes workin on. one guy has a S 10 on air bags and it looks good.
i have nothin againast ricer's as long as they have respect for other's and behave like adults....some of the stuff they do to their cars can be pretty neat... but loud stereo's are not a favorite of mine.....
As much as Texas is home...I must admit I am a transplant, kinda. My family is from down here, Buts its been a couple generations......I like to consider myself back home. I did live in Milford for a while. The Maryland part of the trip...my parents are after me to visit.
Really just to visit some grandparents, a few friends, and my date for the car show...if she has time.....if she doesnt, I'll cut off her allowance.
theres only a couple ricers in there, 2 neons and one is a SRT, a cavileer, f150, S10, theres one guy i am trying to get to come that has a 2000 F350 crew cab sitting on 44" tires. theres a few more cars. the club is still growing and they see this as an oppertunity to gain members as well.
When was the last time you were there? In the past 2 years they have changed owners, twice. Small portions, same prices. I used to go there at least once every two weeks but now twice a year. The gyros are still the same but the large greek salad is sad.

I havent been in there in 5 or 6 years. It sems everytime I visit, Clifton is one place I dont make it. I'm gonna try this time. Did you ever eat at a place called New England Grinders? They were just down the street I believe. I heard they went under about 6 or 7 years ago.

I almost agree with you on this one. It's just too bad that what so many young people do to their cars is done in such bad taste. The wings, fart pipes and silly ground-effects are definately a statement, and most likely a result of watching the fast & furious movies. I guess when all you can afford is a clapped-out Honda...and you want to be cool...this is where you spend your money. I've enjoyed cars and what people have done to them since the 1950's. There's been many trends come and go since then...some better than others. As I look back at the 'trendy' things I've done, like stripes and lace-painting, not all were in good taste. However, in my book these ricer-mods take the cake. As a designer I look at these visual-mods and just cringe. At least HotRod magazine stated that sales of this kind of stuff is finally on the decline, and attendance at tuner drag races is down. I can't wait til its gone. I do respest someone that has spent their money wisely to make their car faster and handle better...even if that money is wrapped in an Asian 4 door subcompact. I just wonder why they didn't start with a 5.0 Fox body to start with.
The loud and expensive stereo thing is something that I just don't understand. I've always liked music and nice stereo equipment, but enjoyed them in my living room or garage. When I can literally hear some dude's thumping sound system coming down the road from a mile away while I'm trying to enjoy working in my yard, I want to choke him. Yea...I guess they're chick-magnets, but they are also invading my space. Call me a geezer, but I think they're a big waste of money. Maybe it's just today's version of "If it don't go, chrome it".
There...I got it all off my chest...I feel better.
Mroldv8, lets be fair to everyone here, everyony has differant tastes on everything, okay ? i don,t want to see this chapter turn into likes and dislikes. people come from differant backgrounds, maybe i was wrong for saying how i felt about certain things....and that opened the flood gates for others to do so...so from now on lets keep things "mellow" here in O.C. okay?
