First Timer fixing C6 Trans
I've gone over a lot of the posts, both recent and old, and a few that just seemed nuts (has anyone ever attempted what 'chas1234' prescribed as driving 30 mph in reverse then throwing it into Drive to blow out some tranny debris? I hope it was a joke) So, short of doing this, I'm going to try and attempt to fix this C6 and it's problems hesitating to shift into the last gear. I'm going to try and adjust bands, check vacuum lines and the throttle kick down linkage and hope that it's one of these things. I don't have specialized tools or a lift. All I have is a few books, a creeper, and you guys to go to for advice. If anyone has pointers, warnings or a brand new C6 they're willing to give away and install in my Bronco for free for me, please, let me know. Also, am I missing something other than the fixes I mentioned?

I heard recently that a band adjustment was temporary at best, and that more than likely it will go back to slipping in a short amount of time after the adjustment. Is this true?
