Have gaskets been changed ??
Is there a way to tell if the timing cover gasket and intake manifold gasket have been changed ? If they were done @ a dealership does Ford keep track of these things ? I have a '98 w/ a 4.2 I bought used @108K miles, runs great [a/c is fixed now, thanks to this forum], but I am concerned about whetehr these gaskets have been changed. I can see one gasket which appears to be at the joint between the upper and lower halves of the intake, and this gasket looks pretty fat. Lower down I can see what appears to be white plastic where the lower gasket would be.
