non-chip key

I have a 98 Ranger with remote keyless entry. When I lock the doors with the power locks inside or from the remote, I have to use the remote to unlock them or it will start honking. This is pretty stupid if you ask me. Why make that feature on a truck without a key with a built in chip? I hate it. Any way I can fix this?

I have the same problem with my 97 ranger. I find that if I turn the key to right, clockwise first, than unlock the door that the alarm will not sound.

bvfd do you have a little red light sticking out of your dash? If you do try pushing down on it this should turn it off. I had the same problem on my 98 expy doing this would fix the alarm
