Alex, nice truck, but out of my price range I'm basically looking for a winter vehicle, and I'd like to get another 73-79 Ford because I like working on them, plus I can cut down on my spare parts inventory. I'd like to either find a regular cab 4x4 or a 2wd supercab.
So I take it not all the paint on your truck is original? I cringed to see the hole in the passenger side floor. My door jambs and floors still look very good, but the paint on the sides of the box and doors is getting thin and looks like yours. I'm going to make sure my truck never sees salt again.
And for hobbies, besides working on my trucks, there's working on my dad's truck, working on/around my house (bought a fixer-upper), doing some work on my parents' farm, model railroading, and most importantly, spending time and playing with my wife and new daughter.
Chad - yeah - it is a pretty sweet truck and it has almost all the options. Price is just an asking price - all offers are going to be considered.
Winter driving in this area is hard on the old trucks. I noticed the hole last year, it was about finger size - all the difference one winter can make - this past winter was exceptionally hard on my truck. The door jamb holes just suck - damn winter road salt! Paint is about 45% original.
When the I first noticed the spots on the body, I was told by a body guy that they would not get much worse if I didn't drive it in the winter - unfortunately over the past few years it has not been feasible to get another vehicle.
At any rate, thanks for the interest.
There is an ad in the classifieds on this site - which I highly recommend folks check out every once and a while.
Cheers!
Just curious, you're not selling it because you're getting married or something, are you? My wife knew before we got married that my truck was staying. Kind of funny, but when we got married just over a year ago, neither of our vehicles was running so we had to borrow wheels from family for a while. Right after our honeymoon I got the engine into my truck and we had to share it for a month or so. I always enjoyed watching my wife driving my truck around
Issue with the truck revolves around storage, financial issues, lack of a job and inheritance of a much newer and fuel efficient vehicle.
IF I could get a JOB, I could move and I could possibly keep the truck around. So there you have it.
IF anyone knows of anyone who could hire me, here is my resume online - http://home.cogeco.ca/~alamore1/MARK..._JUNE_2004.doc
Parenting have twin girls at home 2 1/2 yrs that talks up most of my time for now,

Hey Alex, any luck selling the truck yet? I tried selling my Ranger this past summer but never had any serious inquiries on it, so I guess its on the road for another winter when my 79 goes into storage.
Hey Chad,
No luck selling the truck yet. Lots of tire kickers and folks wanting to share stories. Even all the folks who said 'if you ever want to sell it, let me know' seem to have cold feet.
What does it take to sell a vehicle these days? Am I doing something wrong?
I've got it priced at $3,450 CND.
I have spent roughly $7,000 in maintenance and repair work.
Unfortunately, what a truck may be worth to you or me may not be what it is worth to someone else, but hopefully someone who wants it will come along. What work exactly has been done to the box? Did you redo the inner fenders and box floor at all?
Hi - yes, I agree, what I think it is worth and what folks want to spend are likely 2 different ideas. What gets me is that no one has even made an offer. Oh-well.
As for the box floor, all that was done to it was the replacement of one small section of the bed floor with a patch panel and a bit of minor rust repair and then it was entirely repainted on the inside. It wasn't really too bad as the truck was never abused by the former (original) owner and has been treated well by me. The really is in good shape for an Ontario Truck.
Actually, you should buy mine Dennis - you could keep it here at your cousins and have something to drive when you come down - rather than a VW Bug! HA!?
If I wasn't in debt, and I wasn't starting a business (MarketingGuy.ca is coming soon) and I had a place to keep it, I would likely keep mine, but the laws of economics and the world are against me right now....
