With all of the different makes of nerf bars out there and pictures in ads that leave a lot to be desired, I felt I could ask you guys and come up with what I am looking for so here goes .....
Who makes a set of 3" nerf bars that mount up close to the bottom of the cab, don't stick out real far and leave a large gap there, and bolt to the frame instead of the inside of the rocker panel ?
And if any one has something like I describe, if you have pics they would be great.
I have the gray plastic steps now and they have got to go !
I have a Crew Cab, Short Bed. Thanks ahead of time.
I put A set Westin Nerf Bars on my 98 Ford F-250 LD in 1998 and sold it last month when I bought my pride and joy F-250 heavy duty 6.0. I had 100 miles on the new one when I went down and had a new set of Westin Nerf bars installed. These bars held up like brand new on my 98 for 6 years, this is why I did not hesitate to buyem again. Go for it!
I agree with crowtf. I put some Westin's on my F350 and love them. They don't hang down too far or stick out too far, and you can get them made of chrome plated Stainless Steel (make sure you get the right ones...I think they're called the Platinum series or something like that) so they won't rust. I was also concerned about mounting them to the body panels, but they feel solid as a rock. I have pic's in my gallery.
I've had my GoRhino wheel to wheel bars for 2 years now and they're great! Chrome is good to go and steps (3 on each side) are like new still. They mount on pre-exesting holes in the frame..easy install.

I think the n-fab bars are awesome. They do cost though. I'm still trying to save up for some. They have a few good pictures on their site. Worth a look..
