Well this question has been posted also in the 73-79 forum, heres why.
I was given this truck but have not received the Title yet but am really wanting to get started on finding the parts. The problem is from what we have discovered the body is a '72??? and the VIN (in the door) says its a '79. With a engine that wasnt put in these fords after '76. Now you see the confusion. Any help would be appreciated on helping discover this truck out. Also any help on finding out a other place to get a vin # to verifiy this tag on the door. And if anyone knows a good place to get parts for this Truck.. Thanks
Can you post a picture? We can tell you what year the body style is.
I suggest, if possible, a picture of the slope of the hood, the intrument panel, and the side of the bed.
Check your VIN on the passenger frame rail between the engine ount and the radiator. You will need a lot of sandpapering or wire brushing to get it to show.

The door is from a '79 and body a '72? Even if the doors fit (they might, I just have never heard such a thing), the body moulding on the '67-'72 is convex (sticks out), while on the '73-'79s it is concave. So you'd have convex fenders and bed, with a concave door!?! The motor indicates a 360, and it's an F100. I don't know the numbers for consecutive series to give the year. My bet is that you have a '73 or later and are just confused on the different body styles. I do not know when they stopped putting 360s in Fords, but I'm pretty certain it was before 1979. Anyway, someone will chime in with the year that knows consecutive numbering.
The full body has the sticking out body trim (concave) so the doors arent interchangeable the 360 was last put in '76. I do have pix on my Gallery and by looking at others the body is '72 that I can tell.
I posted on this same truck discussion in 73-79 forum I think you need to
find the vin ,the vin will clear it up on your 67-72.
P.S. I know I already said this on 73=79 forum Before you drive this truck
you really need to get that vin & title figured out because law enforcement
will take your truck.
It's definetly a '67-72. Do you have side marker lights on the bed? Any grill parts come with it? What does the steering wheel look like (rubber horn pad insert?). Are there horizontal lines in the FORD letters on the hood?
I believe it does have side markers lights on the bed. No Grill assembley at all. Not sure on the steering wheel. And I do Believe I have horizontal lines on the letters on the hood. I did add a couple of new pics into the gallery of the inside, Dont know if that helps.
Barry's right on the money, Darin. The door info shows an F100 with a 360, built in San Jose and sold by the Salt Lake City sales district. The original color is Royal Maroon and the 'F37486' shows a scheduled build date of July 69. How did you get the info it was a 79?
Regarding parts for it, check out the classifieds and on line store on this site as well as local papers and ebay.
