After reading how to adjust the drag link in the shop manual, I was more confused than ever. Is there a rule of thumb or instruction that explains this adjustment to dumb folks?
Seems pretty clear to me. I've got my suspension all torn apart right now so some issues become apparent because ive got the part in my hand. The way I understand it adjustment comes after installing new parts...
1. Insert ball end of Pitman arm (or spindle arm)
2. Tighten the screw in part (plug) until the spring is fully compressed. I take this to mean that the ball is almost bound up between the cups.
3. Back off the screw until the next segment of the castle nut aligns with the hole for the cotter key.
I will test this theory if my parts get here sooner than you get a definative answer from someone who has actually done this. best. himmelberg
