I drive a 1999 F150, 4x4 Off Road, with the 4.6. I really did not think the new F150 would be that much better, but as far as powertrain goes it was very smooth. I know this was due to the new more powerful engine, but the power was smooth, not alot of downshifting. The engine was almost more designed to "run", but it didnt sacrifice low end torque either. All in all a good engine, fit and finish was nice too, plenty of room. I only have 2 gripes with the new F150, ugly body, beauty is an opionion I guess I'm partial to my 99, and I do not liek the console shifter. I think that is reserved for cars, but lets get off the negative. His Flowmasters sounded really good, the truck was really quiet on the inside, and also got 18mpg on the highway. The truck is a black FX4 2004, with 4 doors. Nice truck.
