Question 6 CD player

i own a 2001 F-250, the CD player sometimes have problem to eject a CD, i have to use a rigid paper to help eject the CD, has some owner cured that problem. I contacted some dealers, but they told me it is a Ford problem, Ford say me it is out of warranty, your comments please, to help me rule the problem.

Are these home made CD's? Ford sent out a noticed last year about them getting stuck in the deck.

Stuck CD's

Have an 02 and make my own CD's. My experience has been that when the home grown CD's are cold, they come out better. Have used the same technique you have in retrieving a stuck CD. Have never had any probs with a store bought one. Also, never took it back to the dealer as I knew there would be no joy and just waste of a day of my retirement.

If you use homemade discs, don't put labels on them. They usually slide out o.k. without label. that's what I found. They are a bi to get out when they get stuck.

I had one in my ranger, it didn't matter what the CD was, home burn or store bought music CD. The interval it happened on was rather impossible to predict at any point. Pressing the load/eject button a few times was the only reliable way to spit the dang thing out.

Same thing on my '01 with the 6 disk. Randomly gets stuck ejecting disks. Doesn't really seem to matter whether store bought or "home brewed." I have used paper, other cds, whatever to retrieve my disks. What is really a pita, is when one ejects partially, you remove it, and the thing thinks that is really still in there. It will not load that disk back, there is nothing to re-eject, and it won't do squat. I don't remember exactly how I fixed it the time that happened. I just kept goofing with it and finally got it back on track. The 6 disk can be aggravating!

I have the same problem with my 02' SD. I only use original CD's and they do get stuck. It sometimes doesnt recognize that the cd is loaded and the slot is blank. They wont load or eject sometimes. Is there anything that can be done to resolve this problem?

I have a new 04 SD with the 6 disc. I had the same style for 6 disc in my Mustang GT Convertible and never had any problems except with homemade cd's I labeled. I found the problem to be that moisture from the convertible tope being down would cause the labels to swell and that created my problem, so I quit loading them.

I have a new problem in my truck though. A lot of the time the player will say "Bad Disc" and spit my disc out. I put a brand new CD in a couple of days ago and it did that crap. I reloaded the cd right back in and it worked fine, but it has been doing that a lot with a lot if different cd's. Then, like you guys said, sometimes it gets confused and thinks the slots are full or something when they are really not, mainly because it has just ejected a "Bad Disc" out. I might take it to Ford, as I only have 2300 miles on my truck, but it would probably be a waste of time.

Same thing on mine with the "Bad disc". Other times it will eject the disc while its playing with no warning. Always seems to happen on slot 3.

I solved the problem with a new Kenwood Excelon unit. Ripped all of my CD's to MP3's put them on one disk and no more problems. I really never had any problems with my 6 disk. I had it in for 6mnths and just wanted the MP3/Sirius tuner.
