Hey guys
I am on the last leg of restoring my 47 ford truck, and I put that K-36 primer on the cab today, when I was done I noticed a spot that I have to touch up with some bondo,I heard that some one has a filler that I can put over the primer ,all I need is a skim coat over the bad spot ,it isnt deep.Any one hear of this???
Are you talking about glazing putty? Its a red filler that is used to fill in scratches, but needs to be applied very thin. I would just scuff up the area a little bit then fill it in with bondo, sand and reprimer the spot. I'm not a pro, but have done this before without problems.
No its not glazing putty,I was told it is about $30 a quart, and it is like bondo ,but you put it on real thin, and slowly build up the area you are working on!
You shouldn't really "build up" a low spot with filler more than the thickness of a nickle, from what I've read in posts here. I've haven't heard of any fillers that are $30 a quart, that's pretty steep.

Building up a low spot like you describe is done all the time.
Stay away from the red putty in a tube. It's just thick paint and old tech.
Pick up some polyester filler. It's works and mixes like bondo only it's smoother. Goes on like butter and sands easy. I use some stuff called Putty Cote. Lots of different brands are available. Best place to find it is a auto paint supply store.
