Found a burned down F350
I guess my question is 1) Would the rear diff bolt into my truck(4wheel disk) By the way the 350 is a SRW. I can buy the truck less transmision for 300 dollars The front part of the fire got real hot Alternator partialy melted Any input is welcome
Oh the burned rig is a superduty can't tell the year
Mine is a '96 F250 Heavy duty
If the rear disc brakes is all you're after, you may be able to swap the hubs and rotors onto your axle. Don't know how tough the caliper brackets will be to get onto it though.
There is one problem with this though: the wheels.
Superdutys use an 8x~6.8" bolt circle with metric studs and the wheels are hub-centric, meaning they dont center on the lug nuts, they center on the center of the hub. The '97 and earlier trucks use an 8x6.5" bolt circle and are lug-centric and use 9/16" studs. You could end up having to run two different types of wheels unless you want to change the front hubs too...
I don't know that there is all that much braking performance to be gained by switching to the rear discs to justify the hassle of making the switch. I also don't know if you will need the Superduty's master cyl and proportioning valve to go with the rear disc calipers' different fluid volume/pressure requirements.
