Power Brakes

I have a 70 F100 with 4 wheel manual drum brakes. Is it possible to get a brake booster and just bolt it in to the master cylinder, hook up the vaccume lines and have power brakes or is the process more complicated than that?
I ask because someday I hope to switch to disk brakes in the front, but I kinda have to go one step at a time.
Thanks
Scott.

You Should Be Able To Just Put The Booster On But You May Need To Do Some Mod. To The Pedal Plunger.

I'm in the same boat; a 68 f-250 CS with 12" x 2 1/2" brakes all around and manual brakes, only 42,000 miles. If I install a booster and adjust for plunger length, how sensitive will the brake petal be, example it takes now 60 pounds petal pressure to stop manual, booster added what's petal pressure? Thanks, Carl. .......o&o>.........

When you purchase a new master cylinder (rebuilt) it comes with two pushrods one for the booster and one without (diff is the length). I would think your parts house would sell you the longer rod, if not there are tons of our trucks waiting in the junkyards.
