whole bedside replacement

I've got a 73 highboy with a flatbed on it. I'm going to sale the flatbed because I just got a free stock bed from a friend. The driver side back corner around the tailight it smashed in. I want to replace the whole side so I can have two fuel doors and to fix the back end. Can you buy the whole side of a bed? I've checked the sponsers web site and all they have it the wheel arch. Is it hard to weld in A new side panel. Please help i'm poor because my wife just had a kid but i'm still motivated. And is it possible to buy the cheap metal and not have it rust.

I recently put bedsides on my '73, I got them from the local autobody supply store at about $250 each. They are pretty simple to replace. Just drill all the spot welds, clean the mating surfaces and reweld the new panel on. I decided to get bedsides for a '79 so it would have a fuel door - looks better and no more gas running down the side of the box...

Thinner metal will rust out easier, under coating it would help a lot.

That thin import steel will dent easy also. Dig deeper in the sponsors links above and I think you will find more panels. Get parts made on OEM tooling.
