2.8 engine electrical swap

my son has a 1985 b-2 with a 2.8 engine the electrical system is a total mess and he is using a holley carb on a hoffy intake. the question is
he has/had a TFI-IV system and we are putting in a duraspark 2 wiring harness Can we reuse the existing Distributor and re-wire the connection for the duraspark 2. Or does he need a aftermarket/replacement distributor

He needs a distributer off a 79 pinto (or there about) w/2.8 of course. Try to get the one with only one vaccum. FYI Auto Zone sells them for $166.00.
