Tachometer hookup
I have a 98 4.0L standard shift with no factory tach I bought a aftermarket sunpro tach and im not sure how to hook it up to a coilpack I have hooked a tach up to a distributer before but never to a coilpack, and it sucks not having a tach......

No coil pack hookup on these trucks. Find your ECU on the firewall and dig through all the wires bundled up in there. There is a tan/yellow wire, I think it is pin number 46 or 48. That is the tach signal wire, so splice into it and you'll have your tach working in no time. That was one of my first questions when I joined FTE. Good luck!

Thanks maticuno I hooked it up and it works great only one question what fuse do i hook up the tach to for the light? I have it hooked up to the headlights but I wanted to hook it up to the parking lights how do u have yours hooked up?

I took the long way around when I did mine. The easiest wire for me to get to that was hot when the parking lights are one was the driver's side corner marker light. Just spliced in to one of the wires and ran a new wire back and through the firewall. It was a lot brighter than the rest of the dash lights at first, but now I hardly notice it's even there.
