Ignition problems - Duraspark II

Having problems with my ignition, there is no spark!

Everything is wired up correctly, brand new coil, ignition module, distributor was a reman.

Thought coil was gone, but according to the readings I got it's fine (from what I gathered from my Haynes manual) Although it had oil in the plug part, and sometimes it makes a leaking noise...

What else could it be? I am stumped.

Take a test light or voltmeter, and put the positive of the meter or test light on the negative of the coil, and put the negative of the meter or test light on ground. While cranking the engine, see if the bulb or the meter flickers on and off(it should).

With key on it reads 1.3 volts, when you crank it, it goes to 1.5 volts.

You should have had close to 12volts at some time. With the key on, put the red meter lead on the positive of the coil, and the black negative on the dist housing(this is ground for the system) and see what you get.

5.75 volts is not enough. Either the coil is pulling it down too much, or there is a problem in the circuit feeding the coil.

I wonder it you get any spark out of the coil, if you take a battery charger and hook the negative to the negative of the coil, and just momentarily touch the positive of the battery charger to the positive of the coil. It may take three hands, but everytime you touch the positive to the positive of the coil, and then take it away, you should get a healthy spark coming out of the top of the coil to the metal case of the coil.

Ron Francis just told me everything is wired right, replace the ignition module.

Replace it and it now works!

Thanks for the help.
