How do you get those &^%^& chrome pieces back into the groove in the front window gasket? They came right out before my paint job. I have them all cleaned up and ready to go back but can't get them in. I have lubed them with water and dishwasher soap but can't get more that six or eight inches of each piece in. What's the trick? Thanks.

you have to put them in the rubber before the windsheild is in, and even then it is a job. i bet i tried six or seven times when i was doing mine and its still not as good as it was factory
Ouch! I took them out for my paint job and thought they would go right back in. I got both top pieces in but cannot even come close on the side ones. Bad news... Anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

It was for this reason I took my glass to a shop. Included new rubber and glass-$200. I remember them trying to talk me out of putting the chrome back in, because the price was the same, I said no, I want it.
Maybe you could make a spreader tool out of wood that could spread the rubber and then have someone else follow closely along behind with the chrome. I am not sure you are going to be able to do this easily with the glass already in.
i'd say take it to a glass shop and have them take the windsheild back out, because i don't think theres any way to do it with the glass in. Like i said earlier, i still couldn't get mine back in as good as factory with the glass out.
