no spark
Ok on thursday I was out running a few errands and the engine just stopped running and would not restart so I coasted to the curb got out to take a look had my wife crank it over while I looked and listened seemed to have no spark I pulled the coil wire and grouned it and got no spark. Noticed the + wire to the was in pore shape so I clipped it redid the conector it then started up fine. Today I was out and it cut out again but this time restarted so i got home and decide to investigate futher now it wont run at all still no spark have power to coil points are worn but gaped right but she just wont start Iaam guessing coils bad but never had on work only most of the time then nothing what do you think 1965 f100 352

It is most likely the condenser, the points, or the coil. It could be the resisitor wire or some other problem, but those are the most likely.
Because you say the point are worn, replace them and the condenser first. If that doesn't solve the problem, try a different coil next.

Hi, I had a 74 LTD that did the simular thing as yours. It made it about 15 miles then just quit. I let it cool (all afternoon) then it started made it 2 miles then quit again. I left it over night and it started right up and made it 3 miles then quit with no spark. When we finally tracked it down it was the coil. With it replaced it never did it again.
