Thumbs up Thanks

Recently I changed the transmission fluid in my “brand new” 1997 PSD. You know how you watch for all those little clues for something wrong after you do any mechanics on your truck.
Well I don’t know too awful much about working on cars and stuff, I’m a computer fixer myself, so doing something “simple” like taking off the pan, finding and draining the torque converter, and finally putting the right oil in isn’t so easy.
But you know the help I got off this forum made the going a lot easier.
Like, I knew it could be expected for the transmission temperature to skip up about 30* when backing up, that there wasn’t anything wrong. And you could disconnect your transmission cooler hose and drain most of the fluid out so you wouldn’t get a ATF bath when you took off the pan. And knowing what the drain plug in the torque converter even looked like.
There’s other stuff... I could go on, but
Thanks Everyone

I'm getting ready to change the tranny fluid myself. I've done this in my other car, but never in this truck. Can you tell me where you found the info on how to do this?

Try this:

But if you do some research you may get other hints as well.
