Dreaded electrical problem

Ok guys here is the deal. I went to start my truck the other day and it started up just fine but I looked at the interior lights right after starting it and they got really bright and began to flicker. I replaced the Alternator about a month ago after Advance said the battery was good, when it really wasn't but that is another story. Well I found a bare wire wraped around the pos. terminal of the solinoid that had broken off. I repaired that and put in a fuse to replace the fusable link that the wire had corroded away from, the fuse is 20amp. I started the truck again and same thing, only one interior light blew and the fuse did too. Anyone have any ideas? Voltage is 12.5 not running but I have not checked it running due to the fireworks. Just incase you were wondering it is the 86 F-150 we are dealing with here. Thanks, Dan

My guess would be to check the voltage regulator on the fenderwall and see if its working within its normal paramaters. I dont know the exact parameters but im sure someone with a haynes or Chiltons can tell you.

Are the dash lights flickering too or just the courtesy lights?

Just the courtesy lights as far as I can tell because as soon as I turn on the headlights it dies.
