GasHog, the radiator cap spec isn't listed in any of my books, but I'm sure it's in the 12-14 lb range.
It's doubtful that a difference of a couple pounds would make any difference in whether it overheats or not (with a 50/50 coolant mix). It's more likely that the radiator is clogged up a bit, or the radiator shroud is ill-fitting or missing. Another possibility is an old thermostat that's not opening completely......
