Please help with backspacing and rearend selection.

I don't want to pirate 55forders thread so I'm going to start my own with my own problems.

I need some help with choosing backspacing and a rear end that won't need shortening to make it work.

I'm installing a TCI Mustang II kit with airbags. I'm obviously going to go with the Ford bolt pattern which is 5 x 4.5". I'm going to go with 18" x 8" wheels up front and my hub to hub dimension is 60". Can anyone please make a backspacing suggestion?

Also, what disc brake rear end uses the same bolt pattern and has a width that won't require me to shorten it to use a common wheel backspacing? I've got a lead on a '86 Lincoln LSC rearend which I believe has 5" x 4.5" bolt pattern also. Will this rearend work?

I don't know about that Lincoln width, but my 78 Lincoln Versailles fits fine and has the 5x4.5 bolt pattern. Look at the STICKY at the top of the topic sheet. It will have a huge amount of info on axle widths and compatibility. Look on Stockton Wheel's website for a schematic that will decide your backspacing needs. Good luck, John
