guage limits

As my previous posts indicate, I have a SCMT. I have been driving around without guages or any other modifications (no towing). The truck has not thrown any codes. SC told me it was safe to drive with no other mods. I have prbably put 2000 miles on the truck with the tuner. I mainly drove in Econ mode, did put it in Performace for a couple days to test shifting. After reading some posts of egt's climbing I am concerned. Is there any way to know if I have damaged my truck by not having the guages to monitor egt's? Tuner is currently at SC for the update.

Okay, on to the question. What guages should I get and what are the limits I should be looking for in order to ease up on the throttle.

ie. egt=1200?, boost=?, etc.

thanks

Get the guage now, then drive it and see where it is.
1250 for seconds is not going to hurt it.
Call Motorhaven, they have them, get them in before your tuner gets back.
Not hard to do and they do look cool.

Really? I thought it was difficult, drilling etc. I was going to wait until I got a new exhaust. Any draw backs to doing it now and installing a new exhaust later?

So what are the acceptable ranges for

Trans?

Pyro?

Boost?

I know nothing about temps and boost. Any other guages you would recommend?

I have read where people have drilled and have read where people have used clamps (exhaust) what is the preferred method and how do you all route your wires? do you need to drill the turbo? how does it read trans temp or is the trans temp in the dash good enough?

TIA

what is your opinion on a trans temp guage? I noticed that you can get pyro and boost combo guages, which I guess is what I really need. My 04 has trans temp in the dash, is it good enough? or do I need a third guage?

thanks agian

Not really, I mean i don't tow a boat, cattle, or camper if thats what you mean. Doesn't mean in the future I wont have a camper.

I am getting the impression that if one does tow a trailer that the factory trans temp guage is not good enough? Wouldn't you be ok if you stayed within the limits of the factory guage?

thanks for the responses!

…Yes, I use it as "trends" I cannot have enough gauges, so I might not be the one to do a. sanity check on this. I would like two pre-turbo and two post turbo gauges. I would like oil temp and rear end temp, turbo inlet temp, and intercooler exit temp, air density, and density altitude and, and ,and
