Cat back or turbo back?
It is a Federal Law to have it in there.... and emission checks, inspections, police stopping you for something else and discovering this may be more of a problem for u :-)
And actually some have done 1/4 mile and dyno test and not seen any significant difference in the performance with or without the cat ....
One thing the cat will also do for you is tone down the Turbo-jet whine if you run an aftermarket exhaust...
While I think the turbo-jet sound is fantastic - too much of anything is not good :-)
I don't have emissions checks because of the county I live in, and inspections are done at the emmission stations here. I was only going to take it out to see what it sounded like anyway.
Tim, I agree with you that the breakdown situation would be difficult to replace it in most instances. That is one reason why I would like to wait a while longer before doing anything to it. The real reason I am not too worried about it if I do take it out, I really only use the truck for towing an enclosed car trailer stocked with tools. I could just put the CAT in the trailer and changing it on the side of the road may not be fun, but not that difficult either.
